Invitation ist das Debüt-Album der Filthy Friends, die sich mit 12 Songs durch verschiedene Stimmungen, Stile, Genres und tolle Experimente arbeiten. Das verschachtelte Gitarrenspiel und der Kaugummi-Pop von Peter Buck ziehen sich durch das Album.
Eine Mischung aus 1960er Jahre Downer Vibes und Roots-Sound machen den Song »Second Life« so fabelhaft, wogegen »Come Back Shelley« eher ein glamouröser Glam Rock-Song ist. Es gibt nichts, was diese Band nicht aus der Rock-Musik formen kann. Wahre Kunst.
