Blu-ray AudioThe Blu-ray Audio Disc (also Pure Audio Blu-ray) is technically a normal Blu-ray Disc and can be played on any Blu-ray player. However, it does not contain any video content. The high storage capacity is used for high-resolution audio data (stereo and surround, up to 24 bit/192 kHz). It is operated either without a screen like a conventional CD or via the onscreen menu like a normal Blu-ray disc.

»Made In Japan« gehört zu den kultigsten Rock-Live-Alben aller Zeiten. Es wurde im August 1972 in drei Nächten in Osaka bzw. Tokio spontan aufgenommen. Die so genannte Mark II-Besetzung von Deep Purple lieferte unglaubliche, hochenergetische Darbietungen von bahnbrechenden Songs wie »Smoke On The Water«, »Highway Star«, »Child In Time« und »Space Truckin'«. Sieben Titel waren ursprünglich für das Doppelalbum ausgewählt worden.
Zur Feier des (verspäteten) 50-jährigen Jubiläums von »Made In Japan« hat sich Steven Wilson hingesetzt, um einen brandneuen Remix des Originalalbums in Stereo sowie in Dolby Atmos zu erstellen. Außerdem wird das Boxset die kompletten Sets aller drei Nächte enthalten, die alle von Richard Digby Smith neu abgemischt wurden.
Die 5CD+Blu-ray-Audio-Box enthält Steven Wilsons Dolby Atmos-Mix sowie ein 40-seitiges Buch, ein Tourbuch und ein Poster. Mastering durch Andy Pearce.
