Dead Kosmonaut legen sich nicht fest und verarbeiten auf ihrem neuen Werk eine Vielzahl von unterschiedlichen Einflüssen. Die Schweden hatten ihre Diskografie 2017 mit »Expect Nothing« eröffnet, 2019 folgte die Mini-LP »Rekviem«. Mit Mattias Reinholdsson am Bass, Sänger Pelle Gustafsson, den Gitarristen Fredrik Folkare und Pär Fransson sowie Schlagzeuger Henrik Johansson haben Dead Kosmonaut mittlerweile in Stockholm ein festes Line-up etabliert.
»Gravitas« greift wie schon die beiden Vorgänger auf diverse Gastmusiker zurück, so u.a. Daniel Moilanen (Katatonia, Runemagick), Per Broddesson und Fredrich Rönnholm. Zudem wirkt mit Mats G. Eriksson ein echter Kirchenorganist auf dem Album mit.
