Die britische Shoegaze / Alternative-Rock Band Chapterhouse veröffentlichte während ihres Bestehens zwei Alben, »Whirlpool« (1991) und »Blood Music« (1993). Dieses Debüt-Album ist ein fantastisches Beispiel für Shoegaze at it’s Best. Hier trifft eine massive Klangwand auf Tanzmusikstrukturen und schwere Grooves. »Whirlpool« verbrachte 1991 drei Wochen in den britischen Album-Charts und erreichte im Peak Platz 23. Dieser Klassiker ist definitiv in den Neunzigern zuhause, hat sich bis heute aber als eher zeitloses Meisterwerk bewährt.
