Post-Rock, Metal, Shoegaze, Electronic, Noise und Ambient - das alles sind Caspian. Produziert von Will Yip (Code Orange, Defeater, Quicksand, Turnstile), liefert On Circles die organischsten Schreib- und Recordingsessions in der 15-jährigen Laufbahn der Band.

Das Album ist eine Art-Rock-Platte, die mit Saxophonen, Dubby-Texturen und 7/8 Rhythmen bestückt ist. Die beiden Songs »Division Blues« und »Ishmael« featurn Jo Quail (Myrkyr, Winterfylleth, Poppy Ackroyd) mit seinem apokalyptische Cello und der wehmütige Song »Nostalgist« enthält Gesangseinlagen von Pianos Become The Teeth Sänger Kyle Durfey.
