Bob Marley & The Wailers waren auf dem Höhepunkt ihrer künstlerischen Kräfte, als sie im Lyceum London zwei Shows, am 17. und 18. Juli 1975, spielten. Das Rolling Stones Mobile Studio war am Start, um beide Shows aufzuzeichnen, damit sieben Songs für »Live!« im Dezember des gleichen Jahres veröffentlicht werden konnten. Die Aufzeichnung wurde anschließend im Rahmen des Radio-Programms King Biscuit Flower Hour im Jahr 1976 ausgestrahlt.
