Nach Billy Talents erfolgreichem selbstbetiteltem Debüt-Album und ihrem hervorragenden Follow-up »Billy Talent II« ging die Band zurück ins Studio, um ihr drittes Werk »Billy Talent III« aufzunehmen. Sie fügten dem Sound erdigen Blues-Rock und ihren energiegeladenen Punk-Pop hinzu. Das Album erreichte Platz 2 der Album-Charts in Deutschland und Österreich, sowie Platz 3 in der Schweiz. Im April 2010 wurde das Album mit dem Juno Award als bestes Rock-Album ausgezeichnet. Aus dem Album wurden insgesamt 5 Singles ausgekoppelt, von denen »Rusted from the Rain« mit einer Top 20 Platzierung in Deutschland und Österreich die erfolgreichste war. Als kleines Highlight präsentiert »Billy Talent III« Gastauftritte von Mitgliedern der Kult-Band Anti-Flag.
