Mit ihrem dritten Album »Offering« feierten Axe dank der Hitsingle »Rock n' Roll Party In The Streets« große Erfolge. Es wurde von Axe-Gründer und Leadsänger/Leadgitarrist Bobby Barth geschrieben, mit Ausnahme des Covers »I Got The Fire«, das von Montrose geschrieben wurde.

Der Sound von Axe ist rockig, melodisch und radiotauglich, mit treibenden Gitarrenriffs, hohem Gesang und stampfendem Bass und Schlagzeug, wobei die Keyboards im Hintergrund bleiben, wie es sich für eine gute Hardrock-Veröffentlichung gehört. Der Album-Opener »Rock n' Roll Party In The Streets« war ein Hit, aber Songs wie »Holdin' On« und »Steal Another Fantasy« hätten genauso gut Hit-Singles werden können.
