Diese prophetische Fusion aus Spoken Word, Jazz und Funk von Annette Peacock wurde 1979 veröffentlicht, war seiner Zeit weit voraus und ist auch heute noch zeitlos.
Ihre schonungslose Auseinandersetzung mit Kapitalismus, Sex, Religion und Co. wird von großartigen Grooves untermalt. Peacock setzt ihre Stimme mit wilder Hingabe ein, mal trägt sie eine Melodie vor wie ein Beat-Poet, mal schreit sie aus ihrer Kehle wie ein Saxofon.
Vielleicht ist es aber etwas zu esoterisch, um in diesen Zeiten kommerzielles Lob zu ernten. Trotzdem ist es allemal wert, sich durch dieses tolle Album zu hören.
