Vor vier Jahren machte die britische Alternative-Elektro-Pop-Combo alt-J erstmals auf sich aufmerksam. Für ihr Debütalbum erhielt die Band sogar den begehrten englischen Mercury Preis. Mit ihrem zweiten Album, das nur zwei Jahre später erschien, landeten sie schließlich auf Platz eins der UK-Charts.
2016 lassen alt-J ihre Erfolgsgeschichte Revue passieren und präsentieren mit »alt-J: Live At Red Rocks« ihr erstes Livealbum mit zugehörigem Konzertfilm.
Der Name verrät es bereits: Die Aufnahmen fanden im historischen Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado statt. Am 27. Juli 2015 gab die Band dort ein gigantisches Konzert vor sage und schreibe 10.000 Fans.
Ganze 18 Songs performten alt-J an diesem Abend. Dazu gehören Hits ihres ersten Albums »An Awesome Wave«, z. B. »Something Good«, »Matilda« und »Tessalate« sowie vom Nachfolger »This Is All Yours«, darunter die Singles »Hunger Of The Pine« und »Every Other Freckle«.
Ganze 75 Minuten Material kamen so zusammen, die jetzt mit »alt-J: Live At Red Rocks« im Set auf CD, DVD und Blu-ray Disc sowie als blaues Doppel-Vinyl im Gatefoldcover plus DVD erhältlich sind.
Ein großartiger Karriererückblick und der Beweis für die unglaublichen Livequalitäten von alt-J in einem: »alt-J: Live At Red Rocks« ist der erste offizielle Livemitschnitt der jungen britischen Alternativerocker, und zwar in Bild und Ton.
