STEP 13 ist das brandneue Album des Südlondoner Kollektivs Alabama 3, seine erste Arbeit seit REVOLVER SOUL (2010) und dem tragischen Tod des Frontmannes Jake Black aka The Very Reverend D. Wayne Love in 2019.
Für die Produktion holten sich Alabama 3 erstmals Cam Blackwood (George Ezra, Jack Savoretti, Tom Walker, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes), um sich auf etwas Neues, Frisches und Vitales zu fokussieren.
Die erste Single (und Albumopener) WHACKED beweist dies eindrucksvoll. Ein echter Banger mit eingängiger Hook (»I just wanna get stoned«), der auf fantastische Weise die DNA der Band zwischen Blues, Country, Folk, Gospel und Electro-Rhythmen einfängt und in die Jetztzeit beamt. Alabama 3 are very much back. Time to get whacked.
