Episch in sowohl musikalischer Reichweite, als auch Intensität, bezieht die Band ihre Einflüsse aus einer breiten Reihe von Musik. Neben Van Dyke Parks, Phil Spector oder Daniel Johnston ist es aber vor allem auch das geografische Umfeld, was die Band beeinflusst. Aufgenommen wurde das Album in dem Chem 19 und Ca Va Studios in Glasgow und gemixt und produziert von der Band selbst mit Hilfe von Peter Katis (Interpol, Mercury Rev, Mice Parade) in den Tarquin Studios, Connecticut.
