Das brandneue Album der Teufelsbraten aus Los Angeles, THE ICARUS LINE, könnte möglicherweise ihr bestes Album sein. "Slave Vows" reicht zurück zur ungezügelten Wut von "Mono", zum Feuer von "Pennance Soiree" und dem coolen Swagger von "Black Life / Wild Life".
Kurz gesagt: Das Album ist ein ungeheuer beißender Rock'n'Roll Ausbruch, der beginnt und für 45 Minuten STOOGES'scher Herrlichkeit niemals den Fuß vom Gaspedal nimmt. In einem ausufernden Abwasch wird alles von ,Everything Went Black" über "Funhouse" bis zu "Goats Head Soup" und "Maggotbrain" mitgenommen, um endlich das Album abzuliefern, das seit 2001 in Planung war.
Dies ist nichts für zaghafte Musikhörer! Einige der Songs bestanden 2012, als THE ICARUS LINE als Support von KILLING JOKE in Europa unterwegs waren, ihre Feuertaufe. Die Rhythmussektion auf diesem Album ist die beste, die die Band je hatte (der neue Schlagzeuger Ben Hallett und der ursprüngliche Bassist Lance Arnao ROCKEN!), und harmoniert auf lauteste Art und Weise mit dem rotglühenden Gitarrenflow von Sänger / Frontmann Joe Cardamone. Die Songs schwellen an und ab, fackeln sämtliche Konventionen ab und brennen dabei alles aus, was irgendwie aufhalten könnte. Dies ist das Höllenfeuer des Rock'n'Rolls, das hier auf CD destilliert wurde.

Harking back to the fury of Mono, the fire of Pennance Soiree and dragging the swagger out of the Black Lives / Wild Life albums, "Slave Vows" is quite simply a fearsome vitriolic rock and roll outpouring that starts, and never lets up for every 45 minutes of Stoogian styled glory.
Evoking Funhouse, Everything Went Black, Goats Head Soup and Maggotbrain in one fell swoop, it could be said that the Icarus Line have finally made the album they set out on making in 2001... this is not for the fainthearted! Some of these songs were blooded on their support slot with Killing Joke on their European tour in 2012, this album also features the best rhythm section the band have had (new drummer Ben Hallett and original bassist Lance Arnao completely NAIL IT!), underpinning the white hot guitar flow from singer / leader Joe Cardamone, the songs..ebb, and flow, slash and burn...cauterizing any that stand in their way.
