Im Oktober 2013 kam das zweite Studioalbum »Kommer Med Fred« (In etwa: Wir kommen in Frieden) der Psychedelic-Rocker heraus. Spids Nogenhat haben ihre eigene Vorstellung davon, wie Psychedelic Rock klingen soll und sind stark verwurzelt im dänischen Acid Rock der frühen 70er, der im Vergleich zu den damals zeitgenössischen Klängen eine Insel darstellt.
Gesungen wird bei Spids Nogenhat auf Dänisch, das Album besteht aus sieben Originalsongs und einer Coverversion von »Den Genne msigtige Mand« von Furekåben. Der Bandname Spids Nogenhat, der für die psychedelische Pilzsorte »Spitzkegeliger Kahlkopf« steht, war anfangs ein Nebenprojekt, welches Henrik »Hobitten« Klitstrom, Morten »Aron« Larsen und Uffe »Aramis« Lorenzen (Lorenzo Woodrose) 1998 anfingen, als sie zusammen bei der Kopenhagener Band On Trial spielten. Der psychedelische Pilz hat seitdem viele Ableger generiert, darunter Baby Woodrose, Ghost Rocket, Dragontears, Black Beacon Orchestra, Aron und neuerdings noch Quiet Spring. Spids Nogenhat ist von dänischen Acid Rock Bands der 70er wie Alrune Rod, Rode Mor und De Fortabte Spillemænd.
Anfangs spielte die Band als Akustiktrio einige Shows. Dann kam 2001 das Debütalbum »En Mærkelig Kop Te« (Eine ungewöhnliche Tasse Tee) auf Orpheus Records, damals weitgehend unbeachtet, seit einigen Jahren aber ein Kultalbum mit einigen Nachdrucken auf Vinyl. Die Band tat sich 2009 auf öffentliche Nachfrage wieder zusammen, jetzt mit Anders »Moody Guru« Skjodt and Anders »Fuzz Daddy« Gron, die beide im Original Line Up von Baby Woodrose spielten genau wie Lorenzo, und Sebastian »Zeppo« Bülow, der die psychedelischen Visuals zu den Liveshows von Spids Nogenhat liefert und damit für eine ganz besondere Stimmung sorgt.
Ein legendäres Konzert beim Roskilde Festival 2011 wurde 2012 als Live-Album »De Sidste Her På Jorden«, veröffentlicht. Mit dem darauf folgenden Album Kommer Med Fred wurde die Band in Dänemark sehr bekannt und gewann zwei dänische Musik-Awards (Gammies) – einen für »Beste Liveband des Jahres« sowie »Bestes Rock-Album des Jahres« und spielte viele ausverkaufte Konzerte. Kürzlich wurden sie zusätzlich mit zwei Steppeulven (Kritikerpreis der Dänischen Presse) ausgezeichnet, ein Mal für »Beste Band des Jahres« und nochmals für »Beste Liveband des Jahres«.
October 25st Spids Nogenhat will release their second studio album entitled "Kommer Med Fred" (roughly translated to We Come In Peace). Spids Nogenhat have their own take on how psychedelic rock should sound and are deeply rooted in Danish acid rock of the early 70's that somehow had a special sound compared to what was happening in the rest of the world at the time. The lyrics are in Danish and the album contains 7 original songs and a cover version of "Den Gennemsigtige Mand" by Furekåben. Spids Nogenhat (which translates to the magic mushroom Liberty Cap) was originally formed as a side-project in 1998 by Henrik "Hobitten" Klitstrom, Morten "Aron" Larsen and Uffe "Aramis" Lorenzen (Lorenzo Woodrose) who at the time all were part of the Copenhagen based band On Trial. A band that since has led to numerous offshoots like Baby Woodrose, Ghost Rocket, Dragontears, Black Beacon Orchestra, Aron and lately Blind Owl & Good Spirits. Spids Nogenhat was inspired by Danish acid rock bands from the early 70s like Alrune Rod, Rode Mor and De Fortabte Spillemænd and played a few shows in the early years as an accustic guitar trio. In 2001 they released their debut album "En Mærkelig Kop Te" (A Strange Cup of Tea) on Orpheus Records that did not receive much attention at the time but since then has grown into a serious cult album with several reprints on vinyl. The band resurrected in 2009 after public demand now including Anders "Moody Guru" Skjodt and Anders "Fuzz Daddy" Gron, who both were in the original line-up of Baby Woodrose along with Lorenzo, and Sebastian "Zeppo" Bülow who contributed with the great visuals that always give a special vibe to the Spids Nogenhat shows.
