Und auch das ist eine Weltneuheit: Während das erste Album ausschließlich Songs in spanischer Sprache enthielt, wird das kommende Album wieder »international« – sprich: in englisch eingesungen. Auf »Vol. 2« finden sich ausschließlich neue Shakira-Kompositionen, u.a. das Stück »Illegal«, das zusammen mit Carlos Santana entstand. Beide Alben wurden von Rick Rubin produziert.
Die Jubiläumsausgabe auf LP ist mit drei Bonus-Remixen angereichert, die Shakiras Entwicklung innovativer Rock- und Popklänge veranschaulichen.
Gerade mal sechs Monate nach ihrem überaus erfolgreichen spanischsprachigen Album "Fijacion Oral Vol. 1" präsentierte die Kolumbianerin Shakira Ende 2005 die Fortsetzung "Oral Fixation Vol. 2", die komplett in Englisch aufgenommen war. Wieder war Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, System Of A Down, Justin Timberlake, Audioslave, Neil Diamond) der Produzent. Die drei Highlights: "How Do You Do", "Illegal" feat. Carlos Santana - und natürlich der Nr. 1-Hit "Hips Don't Lie" feat. Wyclef Jean.
