Die Band wurde 1965 von dem charismatischen Sänger und Bassisten Sky Saxon gegründet, und gilt bis heute als eine der einflussreichsten Mid-60s Garagen-Bands überhaupt.
‘Raw & Alive’, das jetzt auch als umfangreiche 2CD-Deluxe-Edition kommt, wurde im Original 1968 veröffentlicht. Die Tracks wurden ursprünglich live im Studio mitgeschnitten und im Nachhinein mit Applaus-Overdubs versehen.
Die Deluxe-Edition enthält erstmalig ‘Dubbed’ und ‘Undubbed’ Versionen des Albums. Das bei Fans beliebte und als Original teure Album erscheint nun in einer spektakulären Neu-Edition mit 16 Bonustracks (‘Live In The Studio 20 February 1968’). Ein umfangreiches Booklet hält wieder aufschlussreiche Linernotes bereit, basierend auf Interviews mit noch lebenden Bandmitgliedern und vielen Archiv-Fotos!
