Die Texaner Riverboat Gamblers sind nicht mehr länger weltweit beim legendären Volcom-Label sondern mit ihrem neuen, dem dritten Album „The Wolf You Feed“ für Europa bei XtraMile / Kartel gelandet.
Am Sound hat sich nicht viel geändert, nur die Songs sind roher, punkiger, die Stimmung dunkler und rauher.
Tut dem Erscheinungsbild der Riverboat Gamblers insofern gut, als dass sie sich von Spaß-Pop-Punk Kapellen erfreulich weit absetzen.
Mit Gästen wie u. a. Mark Ryan (Marked Men) und Sean Kirkpatrick (The Paper Chase) und Produzent Stuart Sike (White Stripes, Cat Power) sind ihnen Hits wie „Comedians“ „Soliloquy“ und „Good Veins“ oder der Blues-Stampfer „Gallows Bird“ gelungen.
