„The Death Defying Unicorn“ war sowohl in kommerzieller Hinsicht als auch vom künstlerischen Anspruch ein voller Erfolg. Allerdings bedeutete der totale Fokus auf dieses Projekt dass der „normale“ Output der Jungs erst mal ins Hintertreffen geriet. Bis zum Sommer 2012 hatten sich 20 Tracks auf der Motorpsycho Festplatte angesammelt die stilistisch alle nicht zum „Unicorn“ passten.
Während der zweiwöchigen Aufnahme-Sessions verstärkte der schwedische Gitarrist Reine Fiske das Line-Up der Band. Am besten bekannt durch seine Arbeit mit Psych-Bands wie The Amazing oder Dungen, verbindet die Jungs eine lange Freundschaft.
„Still Life With Eggplant“ wurde von Bent Saether produziert und von Thomas Hendriksen, der bereits bei „Roadwork 4 – Intrepid Skronk“ an den Reglern saß, gemischt. Wir hoffen dass diese In-House Produktion von den Psychonauten dieser Welt enthusiastisch angenommen wird. Das Album ist definitiv zugänglicher als „The Death Defying Unicorn“.
