May Blitz were one of the heaviest of the new progressive rock outfits launched on the Vertigo label in 1970. The trio included Canadian musicians Jamie Black (guitar, vocals) and Reid Hudson (bass and vocals) with former Sounds Incorporated drummer Tony Newman. At the time, Vertigo felt May Blitz would appeal to Black Sabbath fans and this first album is full of powerful feedback guitar. Among the best of the seven dynamic tracks are ‘Smoking The Day Away’ and ‘Fire Queen’.
