In a stellar career which began back in 1954, THE ISLEY BROTHERS have embraced a whole raft of music styles, from Doo-Wop to 60's Soul, from R&B to driving Funk. They are one of the few artists in popular music to have had hits in every decade since the 50's. They had their first U. S. National hit in 1959 with hout' and are to this day still notching up significant hits. They have had over 50 hit singles since. Throughout their long career, The Isley Brothers have demonstrated an uncanny ability to mould their sound to current music trends, keeping them very much at the cutting edges of soul, rock and pop music. In perhaps their most successful phase during the 70's they successfully took their funk sound into the pop, rock and disco mainstreams.
