Product-Information:
One of the UK’s finest rock bands born out of the late Sixties, Gun was formed by the talented brothers Adrian and Paul Gurvitz. Lead guitarist Adrian wrote their smash hit single ‘Race With The Devil’ that launched the group into the Top Ten in 1968. This exciting number kicks off a selection of eight tracks from a much sought after debut album. ‘Gun’ was graced by the first ever LP cover design by the soon to be famous Roger Dean, who talks to Chris Welch in the CD liner notes. There is also a fascinating interview with the Gun’s roadie John Hammel, who later worked for Sir Paul McCartney and has fond memories of a long gone pop scene, when ‘it all seemed new and exciting’. With four bonus items this is an excellent introduction to a band that paved the way for heavy guitar rock and that still sounds impressive 41 years later.
