Furyon nennt sich der neue Stern am Heavy Metal Himmel, denn die britischen Jungs hauen uns mit ‘Gravitas‘ ein wahres Meisterwerk um die Ohren. Die Band verbindet Metal mit Prog und Classicrock, liefert radiotaugliche Songs genauso wie technisch anspruchsvolle Kracher und vor allem große Melodien. Die Truppe hat sich dem Ziel verschworen Songs für die Ewigkeit zu schreiben, unabhängig von diversen Trends.

Was Furyon aus der Masse neuer Bands hervorhebt wäre auch das musikalische Können der einzelnen Bandmitglieder. Die beiden grandiosen Gitarristen Chris Green und Pat „The Shred“ Heath hauen so einige atemberaubende Riffs und Solos aus den Ärmeln. Die Rythmusfraktion um Lee Farmery und Alex (Nickel) Bowen bildet die perfekte Basis für Matt Mitchells einzigartigen Gesang der mal melodisch, mal heavy durch die Boxen tönt.
Matt erklärt: “We really have been inspired by many bands over the time (as all musicians and writers are) but for this album inspirations from bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Tool, Mastodon, Alter Bridge and Iron Maiden spring to mind”.
Nach einer ausverkauften Tour und der Veröffentlichung einer EP in 2009, enterte die Band das Studio um ihr Debut aufzunehmen. Nach kurzer Zeit wurde US Produzent Rick Beato (Shinedown, Fozzy) auf Furyon aufmerksam und nahm die Jungs unter seine Fittiche.
