Die früheren The Byrds Musiker Gram Parsons und Chris Hillman gründeten The Flying Burrito Brothers im Jahr 1968
Auf ihr erstes Album ‘Gilded Palace Of Sin’ (1969) folgte 1971 ein zweites Studioalbum und ein Live Album (1972). Danach lösten sich die Burrito Brothers wieder auf.
Die ‘Close Up The Honky Tonks’ Compilation war ein US Top 200 Chart Album und gleichzeitig ein großer Erfolg in Europa.
