Das im September 1972 veröffentlichte Album war das zweite in der Besetzung Sänger Roger Chapman, Gitarrist John »Charlie« Whitney, Schlagzeuger Rob Townsend, Bassist und Sänger John Wetton und Multiinstrumentalist John »Poli« Palmer an Vibraphon, Keyboard und Flöte und knüpfte an den Erfolg des im Oktober zuvor veröffentlichten Albums »Fearless« an.
Das Album enthielt Klassiker wie »Burlesque« (eine britische Top-20-Hitsingle), »My Friend The Sun«, »Glove« und »Coronation«. Bei den Aufnahmen war auch die Gastsängerin Linda Lewis auf dem kraftvollen »Broken Nose« zu hören.
Diese neue erweiterte Ausgabe wurde von den Original-Masterbändern neu gemastert und enthält außerdem zehn Bonustracks von der Single ›The Rockin‹ Rs', unveröffentlichte Studio-Out-Takes vom Mai 1971 und eine BBC-Radiosession vom Oktober 1972. Diese neue, erweiterte und remasterte Version enthält auch ein illustriertes Booklet mit einem neuen Essay.

Family was a highly respected and revered band that enlivened the Seventies’ rock scene with a dynamic stage act and a succession of inventive and memorable albums. Hailing from Leicester, England, the group was fronted by Roger Chapman - a charismatic personality with a demonic aura - who delighted in smashing tambourines to bits, while singing such anthems as ‘The Weaver’s Answer’. Although dubbed ‘a progressive rock’ group, Family was grittier than contemporaries Yes or Genesis. Their 1972 Top 20 hit ‘Burlesque’ has a funky feel, enhanced by Charlie Whitney’s irresistible guitar riff. The song is among the highlights of ‘Bandstand’, their sixth album, first released in 1972, with a distinctive cover depicting a vintage TV set. Here is a chance to revaluate a band that thrilled audiences at festivals and clubs throughout the heyday of classic British rock.
