Nachdem Faith No More Gitarrist und Gründungsmitglied Jim Martin die Band 1994 verließ, übernahm Trey Spruance von Mr. Bungle auf „King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime“ den vakanten Gitarrenposten.
Schnell wurde nach der Veröffentlichung klar, dass Faith No More noch immer ganz oben mitspielten. Auf Songs wie „Get Out“, „Ricochet“ und „Cuckoo For Caca“ kommen noch immer die härteren Sounds zum Einsatz, während romantische Lovesongs wie „Evidence“, luftiger Pop („Caralho Voador“) und der experimentelle Titeltrack die Waagschale im Gleichgewicht halten.

Der ursprüngliche Release wurde nur in kleinen Stückzahlen auf Vinyl gepresst, weshalb diese Version von „King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime“ ein wahres Sammlerstück ist.
