The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Box mit sechs Hybrid-Multikanal-SACDs von The Doors. Neben den auch einzeln erhältlichen Titeln enthält die Box ein Booklet im Großformat. Das Set erscheint im Schmuckkarton und dürfte das Herz jedes audiophilen Sammlers höher schlagen lassen.
Das Remastering von den Original-Analogbändern (außer für The Doors, hier wurde die bestmögliche Kopie der Originale benutzt) stammt von Doug Sax, begleitet wurde er dabei von Bruce Botnick, dem Produzenten und Toningenieur der Doors. Die ursprünglichen Master wurden auf einer Bandmaschine mit Röhreneingangsstufe zusammengestellt und auch für die Wiedergabe der neu zu masternden Bänder wurde eine Maschine mit Röhrenausgangsstufe verwendet. Grundlage für den Surround-Sound waren die 96k / 24Bit-Dateien, die von Botnick für die Audio-DVD-Veröffentlichung Perception von den Original-Analogmastern gemixt und gemastert wurden.
Für die SACDs wurde ein Resampling auf DSD (ohne Filter) mittels eines Weiss Saracon Konverters durchgeführt. Gus Skinas vom Super Audio Center hat schlussendlich die Pre-Produktion übernommen.
