Nach seinen lakonischen Werken "Nebraska" (1982) und "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" (1995), die musikalisch außerhalb des Rockband-Konzepts angesiedelt waren, gelang Bruce Springsteen im vergangenen Jahr mit der CD "Devils & Dust" erneut ein akustisches Juwel voller karger Folkklänge, anrührender Charakterstudien und biografischer Notizen. Das klingt nicht besonders kommerziell - doch das schert den "Boss" wenig. Er macht, was er muss. In den US-Charts reichte es dennoch locker für Platz 1. Die enthaltene Bonus-DVD enthält nochmals fünf Akustik-Songs und das komplette Album in perfektem 5.1.-Surround-Sound.
