Pioneers of brash and exciting jazz rock, this American band caused a sensation when they made their debut in 1969. In an age dominated by four-piece guitar groups, Blood, Sweat & Tears seemed revolutionary with their use of a powerful brass section sparked by dynamic drummer Bobby Colomby. The group celebrated all aspects of contemporary music, playing arrangements of Traffic tunes like ‘Smiling Phases’ while exploring classical themes and jazz tunes like Billie Holiday’s ‘God Bless The Child’. Soulful Canadian born singer David Clayton-Thomas roars through ‘More And More’ and ‘Spinning Wheel’, among the highlights of a seminal, ground-breaking album.

Blood, Sweat and Tears sollte man gehört haben. Sicher driftet die Gruppe oft in klassischen Jazz ab - man muss auch Blasintrumente mögen. Dieses Album gehört unumstritten zu den besten Alben. Meine Anlage ist sensibel - sie bringt die LP`s wie sie sind und zu meiner hier bestellten Pressung kann ich sagen: Die Platte liegt plan, das Zentrierloch ist saugend, die Nadel bewegt sich sauber in der Rille. Der Sound kommt glasklar, die Hihats perlen, die tiefen Frequenzbereiche, Bass und Drums, sind da. Es hört sich an, als wäre man in einer Privatsession. Vom Repertoirewert und Sound auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Ohne die Blasinstrumente wäre es ja nicht diese besondere Musik, dieses tolle (heute: "geile")

Blood Sweat & Tears – jung und frisch

Wer Blood Sweat & Tears mag, wird von dieser LP aus dem Jahre 1969 begeistert sein. Unkonventionelle, leicht jazzige Musik, ein Wechselspiel zwischen den Bläsern und Keyboards und der prägnanten Stimme von David Clayton-Thomas. Diese Stilrichtung in dieser Form ist recht selten zu finden. Genau DAS ist es, was ich schon immer an > Blood Sweat & Tears < schätze. Die LP lädt zum aufmerksamen Zuhören ein. Für mich ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art. Wer die Band kennt, muss nicht überzeugt werden. Alle, die BS&T noch nicht auf ihrer Liste hatten und anspruchsvolle Musik mögen, unbedingt kaufen. Diese seltene, streng limitierte Ausgabe in Vinyl sollte in keiner Plattensammlung fehlen. Wer einen guten Dreher hat, erlebt hier neue Klangwelten, akustisch brillant und hochauflösend, so als stünde die Band direkt vor einem. Das Vinyl an sich ist ausgezeichnet. 180g, sehr gute Pressung, kein Rauschen, Knistern, Schmutz oder ähnliches. - Perfekt, einfach so wie es sein muss. Klare Kaufempfehlung und logische 5 Sterne.
