Für sein 1973 erschienenes Debütalbum als Bandleader stellte Lonnie Liston Smith eine Killer-Band zusammen: Cecil McBee am Bass, George Barron am Saxophon, James Mtume und Sonny Morgan am Schlagzeug, David Lee Jr. am Schlagzeug, Badal Roy am Tabla, Geeta Vashi an der Tamboura und Joe Beck an der Gitarre. Ein solch vielseitiges Ensemble war perfekt geeignet, um den spirituellen Jazz zu erforschen, den Smith während seiner Zusammenarbeit mit Pharoah Sanders kennengelernt hatte ("Let Us Go into the House of the Lord" erscheint hier und auf Sanders' 1970er Album „Summun Bukmun Umyun“, auf dem Smith mitwirkte), alles unter der Leitung des Flying Dutchman-Label-Besitzers und ehemaligen John Coltrane-Produzenten Bob Thiele.
