BRILLIANT!!! WISHBONE ASH AGAIN !
I was not really sure what to expect when I heard that Martin Turner, formally the front man for Wishbone Ash, announced that he was making a new album with his present band. Martin has almost exclusively been playing old Wishbone Ash tunes with his band, once known as Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash and has not exactly been prolific in his solo endeavors , and after losing his fight in court to Andy Powell over the name rights he had to drop the Wishbone Ash part of the band name. So as I said I was not sure what to expect. It took me a couple of listens for it to really click but it did and I love it!
The guitar parts are top notch , the lyrics and songs themselves are also , and Martin's bass playing is absolutely brilliant as ever.
I've missed this sound, really. Martin Turner's bass lines are unmistakable from his days fronting Wishbone Ash. It's a classic sound I'm glad he's still creating.
I highly recommend this new one from Martin & company to anybody real fan of Wishbone Ash , and I am talking about the glory years of the band!! And to take it a step further I would say anybody who likes well played and produced rock music will love this , it really is that good!
