Wonderful Town
The Blu-Ray was developed as a high-definition successor to the DVD and offers a significantly increased data rate and storage capacity compared to its predecessor. Blu-Rays can therefore store movies with significantly better resolution and offer enormously high picture quality on corresponding screens. Blu-Ray players are usually backward compatible with DVDs, so that they can also be played.

Leonard Bernsteins charmantes Wonderful Town erzählt als musikalische Liebeserklärung an New York in ausgelassenen Rhythmen und jazzigen Melodien die Geschichte von zwei Schwestern aus Ohio, die im Big Apple nach Erfolg und Ruhm suchen. In einem leichteren Ton als spätere Werke wie West Side Story oder Candide stellt dieses Musical eine mitreißende Mischung aus verschiedenen Musiktraditionen dar, wie sie auch in den Straßen New Yorks zu hören ist. Nach seiner Uraufführung 1953 wurde das Werk mit nicht weniger als fünf Tony Awards ausgezeichnet.
Hier ist Wonderful Town erstmals in der szenischen Version zu sehen, aufgenommen während der Frankreich-Premiere an der Opéra de Toulon.
