Moncurs Band besteht aus Altsaxophonist Jackie McLean, Trompeter Lee Morgan, Vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, Bassisten Bob Cranshaw und Schlagzeuger Tony Williams. Der Penguin Guide to Jazz beschreibt das Album als "ein erfrischendes und intellektuell stimulierendes Set" und kommentiert: "Die gesamte Platte hat eine dunkle, mysteriöse Qualität, die der tiefere Posaunenklang ... stark akzentuiert."
