Sonny Reds "Out of the Blue" ist ein Juwel des Blue-Note-Katalogs, das eine viel breitere Anerkennung verdient. Das einzige Album des Altsaxophonisten für das Label wurde in zwei Sessions mit Wynton Kelly am Klavier, den Bassisten Sam Jones und Paul Chambers sowie den Schlagzeugern Roy Brooks und Jimmy Cobb aufgenommen.
Die Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series von Blue Note Records wird von Joe Harley produziert und bietet rein analoge, von den Original-Masterbändern gemasterte, audiophile 180g-Vinyl-Wiederveröffentlichungen in Deluxe-Verpackung. Das Mastering wird von Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) durchgeführt und das Vinyl wird bei Record Technology Incorporated (RTI) hergestellt.
