Stanley Turrentines Soul-Jazz-Klassiker "Rough 'N Tumble" von 1966 hat einen tiefen, bluesigen Groove, der von Anfang bis Ende nicht nachlässt. Zu Turrentine gesellt sich die Crème de la Crème: Blue Mitchell an der Trompete, Pepper Adams am Baritonsaxophon, James Spaulding am Altsaxophon, McCoy Tyner am Klavier, Grant Green an der Gitarre, Bob Cranshaw am Bass und Mickey Roker am Schlagzeug.
Zu den Höhepunkten gehören gefühlvolle Coverversionen von Ray Charles' "What Could I Do Without You", Burt Bacharachs "Walk On By" und "Feeling Good", das Nina Simone im Jahr zuvor aufgenommen hatte.
