Orchesterwerke Vol.4
The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Zu entdecken gibt es diesmal einige zu Lebzeiten des Komponisten unveröffentlichte Orchesterwerke z. B. das frühe, aber bereits vielversprechende A Winter Idyll von 1897 – als Holst noch am Royal College of Music studierte – oder das späte Scherzo. Sir Andrew Davis und das BBC Philharmonic Orchestra werben hier eindringlich für die Musik des großen, aber auch ein wenig verkannten englischen Spätromantikers, der für viele leider immer noch nur die monumentale Suite »The Planets« komponiert hat.
