The Judgement of Paris
The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Thomas Arnes Oper »The Judgment of Paris« von 1742 auf ein Libretto von William Congreves schlummerte Jahrhunderte in Archiven, ehe sie 2010 wieder auf eine englische Bühne gebracht und nun erstmals aufgenommen wurde. The Brook Street Band, ein Alte-Musik-Ensemble, benannt nach einer Straße in London, in der einst Händel lebte, spielt mit Raffinesse unter der kundigen Leitung von John Andrews. Die jungen Sängerinnen und Sänger bilden ein hinreißendes Ensemble, um diese mythologische Geschichte, in der ein Zankapfel eine wesentliche Rolle spielt, neu zu erzählen.
