Maximale Wirkung
Es ist erstaunlich, wie es Strawinsky in L’Histoire du Soldat gelang, mit beschränkten Mitteln maximale Wirkung zu erzielen. Tatsächlich markiert das Stück den endgültigen Bruch des Komponisten mit der traditionellen russischen orchestralen Schule. Für die von der Kritik hoch bewertete Londoner Produktion konnte als Erzähler der bekannte Theater- und Filmschauspieler Malcolm Sinclair gewonnen werden.
