The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).
DVDMost of the offered DVDs have the region code 2 for Europe and the PAL picture format. However, we also offer releases from the USA, which come on the market in NTSC format and with the country code 1. This is then indicated in our item details.

Dreizehn Nocturnes und ebenso viele Barcarolles stehen im Kern der gesammelten Werke für Klavier von Gabriel Urbain Fauré (1845-1924), Nachtmeditationen also und die Inspiration von bewegtem Wasser (der Ursprung der barcarolle liegt in den Liedern der venezianischen Gondolieri, das Wort selbst stamt vom italienischen barca - Boot ab).
Zusammen mit einigen Impromptus, Preludes und anderen Werken bekommt man schnell den Eindruck einer entzückenden Sammlung von Salonmusik, deren Titel auch den Einfluss von Chopin zeigen mag (Fauré schrieb sogar eine Mazurka). Doch diese Kompositionen sind so viel mehr als nur nette Salonmusik. In der Intimität dieser Genres gelingt es Fauré ein ums andere Mal, dem Hörer seine Seele offenzulegen, und der Stil des französischen Komponisten ist einzigartig - individuell und persönlich - vom ersten bis zum letzten Ton.
