Der Geiger und Komponist Marco Anzoletti wurde 1867 in Trient in eine musikalische Familie hineingeboren, der Vater Cellist, die Onkel Pianisten und Geiger. Schon im Alter von 22 Jahren bekleidete er den Lehrstuhl für Violine am Mailänder Konservatorium. Neben fünf Opern und zahlreichen Werken für die Violine schrieb Anzoletti auch eine Handvoll Lieder, darunter Vertonungen der Gedichte seiner Schwester Luisa und einen ungewöhnlichen Variationen-Zyklus über Texte des Librettisten und Komponisten Arrigo Boito. Das Album der Sopranistin Gabriella Costa und des Pianisten Alberto Nones umfasst Anzolettis komplettes Liedschaffen in einer Erstaufnahme.
