Freni und Pavarotti – nun auch in Hi-Res Audio
Während HD-Auflösung im Bildbereich heute (zumindest auf Blu-ray) eine
Selbstverständlichkeit ist, war HD-Sound bislang nur den audiophilen Labels mit SACDs und Pure Audio-Blu-rays vorbehalten. Arthaus Musik ändert dies nun auf einen Schlag und legt einige der beliebtesten Programmhighlights des Labels nicht nur in HD-Bild, sondern auch in konkurrenzlos gutem Hi-Res Audio-Sound (PCM 192kHz / 24 Bit) vor. Erstmals kommt nun auch klanglich die volle Pracht der zum Teil legendären Aufführungen zuhause vor der heimischen Anlage zur Geltung.
Für La Bohème gab es in der jüngeren Operngeschichte kaum ein wirkungsvolleres Duo als Mirella Freni und Luciano Pavarotti. Dies bewies sich zum wiederholten Male in der gemeinsamen Produktion des Werks, die am 19. November 1988 an der San Francisco Opera ihre Premiere feiern konnte. Genau 21 Jahre früher, nämlich 1967, hatten die beiden ihr Debüt in San Francisco in den gleichen Rollen bestritten.
