Auch wenn der Titel eher auf die gotischen Sakralbauten Englands verweist, wollte Nadège Rochat, inspiriert von ihrem zweijährigen Studium in London, den nicht minder spektakulären Herrenhäusern des Inselkönigreiches ein musikalisches Denkmal setzen. Mit Werken von Elgar, Walton und Boyle entführt sie den Hörer in die Zeit von Downton Abbey und entwirft ein plastisches Sittenbild der musikbegeisterten Aristokratie.
