Betörende Klänge
Der betörende Gesang der Sirenen, die Seeleute ins Verderben locken, hat viele Dichter und Musiker inspiriert. Als um 1600 mit dem »Stile moderno« in der Musik Affekte und Emotionen zum zentralen Interesse der Gestaltung wurden, rückten im Zuge dieser Entwicklung ‒ als Inbegriff der Verführung und Emotion ‒ auch die Gesänge der Sirenen in den Fokus der Komponisten. Rogério Gonçalves hat sich auf die Suche nach entsprechender Musik gemacht und Sirenengesänge aus Spanien, Italien und England zusammengetragen. Während sich bei Homer Odysseus allerdings noch an den Mast seines Schiffes binden lassen musste, damit er nicht in sein Verderben sprang, können wir ihnen hier ganz gefahrlos lauschen.
