Die Huddersfield Choral Society kehrt mit dem Nachfolger ihres überaus erfolgreichen Hymns-Albums auf Signum zurück.
Hymnen sind Teil der britischen Nationalkultur und stehen Gläubigen und Ungläubigen gleichermaßen zur Verfügung. Einige der beliebtesten hier vorgestellten Kirchenlieder – wie »O Sacred Head«, »Sore Wounded« oder »Good Christians All« – sind über vierhundert Jahre alt, während andere aus der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts stammen.
Die international bekannte Huddersfield Choral Society wurde 1836 gegründet und ist eine der führenden Chorgruppen Großbritanniens. Berühmt für ihren »Huddersfield Sound«, können sie auf eine lange Erfolgsgeschichte mit Aufnahmen und Auftritten zurückblicken, traten 2018 bei den BBC Proms auf und sendeten regelmäßig im Radio und Fernsehen.
