Als Herkunftsland seiner Mutter hegte Ravel immer eine besondere Liebe zum Baskenland und verarbeitete diese in vielen seiner Werke. Das Klavierkonzert G-Dur ist das zentrale Werk dieser CD und wird in einer Bearbeitung für Klavier und kleines Ensemble präsentiert. Alle hier aufgenommenen Werke veranschaulichen den musikalischen Reichtum einer Region, die so viele Künstler inspiriert hat.
