Rossinis Aschenputtel-Oper in einer märchenhaften Inszenierung aus Rom
Rossinis »La Cenerentola« wurde am 25. Januar 1817 im Teatro Valle in Rom uraufgeführt, weniger als ein Jahr nach der Uraufführung seiner Oper »Der Barbier von Sevilla«, die sich selbst für den damals schon erfolgsverwöhnten Rossini als ein sensationeller Erfolg erwies. Die Cenerentola wiederholte diesen Erfolg und verbreitete sich schnell in Italien, dann bald in ganz Europa. Bereits zu Rossinis Lebzeiten gab es neben der italienischen Originalfassung auf Aufführungen in englischer, französischer, deutscher, russischer, polnischer und tschechischer Sprache.
Anlässlich des 200-jährigen Jahrestages der Uraufführung in Rom wurde im römischen Teatro dell’Opera eine hochkarätig besetzte Aufführung von Emma Dante inszeniert. Ihr gelang eine »mitreißende Cenerentola« (Corriere della Sera), die »ihre eigene zeitgenössische Vision auf ein klassisches Meisterwerk in perfekter Symbiose mit dem Geist Rossinis verbindet« (Opera Now). »Alejo Pérez gebührt das Verdienst für ein hervorragendes Ensemble und eine schillernde rhythmische Wiedergabe der Rossinischen Partitur« (La Nazione – Il Resto del Carlino – Il Giorno).
