Zum ersten Mal wird Rossinis biblisches Drama Mosè unter Verwendung modernster Technologie und mit stimmungsvollen Licht- und Farbeffekten im Inneren einer Kathedrale aufgeführt. Ruggero Raimondi brilliert in der Titelrolle als Mosè.
Ruggero Raimondi zählt nach wie vor zur Elite der internationalen Opernsänger. 1941 geboren hatte Raimondi in den 1980er- und 1990er-Jahren seine größten Erfolge, die ihn zu einem der erfolgreichsten Opernstars unserer Zeit machten. Als Mosè in Rossinis gleichnamiger Oper kann Raimondi seine ganze stimmliche Klasse in diese Produktion einbringen, die in der ungewöhnlichen und architektonisch bedeutenden Kulisse des Mailänder Doms mitgeschnitten wurde.
Mit großflächigen Projektionen wird der Dom zu einer fantastischen, teils surreal ausgeleuchteten Opernbühne, und so ergeben sich bei dieser überaus faszinierenden Einspielung Reize für beide Sinne.
