Mit ihrer exquisiten Partitur ist Giacomo Puccinis ergreifende Oper von 1904 ebenso schon wie erschütternd. Die Inszenierung von Moshe Leiser und Patrice Caurier für das Royal Opera House aus dem Jahr 2024, die von europäischen Bildern Japans aus dem 19. Jahrhundert inspiriert ist, zeigt Asmik Grigorian in der Titelrolle unter der Leitung von Kevin John Edusei.
