To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Der britische Komponist Havergal Brian betrachtete seine Oper „Faust“ als sein größtes Werk, doch hat er nie auch nur eine Note davon gehört. Anlässlich des 50. Todestages des Komponisten im kommenden Jahr bringen das Orchester und der Chor der English National Opera unter der Leitung ihres Musikdirektors Martyn Brabbins das Werk zur Weltpremiere. Die Aufnahme entstand in den Londoner Abbey Road Studios. Brians 1955-56 komponierte Oper kommt dem Geist von Goethes Original wohl näher als jede andere musikalische Adaption, da sich ihr deutsches Libretto sehr eng an Der Tragödie ersten Teil hält.
