Lili Kraus (1905-1986), die britische Pianistin ungarischer Herkunft, war eine der herausragenden Mozart-interpretinnen des 20. Jahrhunderts. Ihre Einspielung Mozartscher Werke für Klavier solo (darunter, bis auf die Sonate KV533 / 494, alle Klaviersonaten) für die Haydn Society aus dem Jahr 1954 besitzt durch ihre klare Artikulation, durchdachten Tempi und die fein abgestuften dynamischen Schattierungen nach wie vor Gültigkeit. Maggi Payne hat für Music & Arts diese Aufnahmen jetzt von originalen Bändern neu abgemischt, das Ergebnis ist ein überraschend klarer Klang.
