Diese weltlichen Madrigale wurden 1982 als erste Digital-Aufnahme der Tallis-Scholars veröffentlicht und waren seit über 20 Jahren nicht mehr erhältlich. Es ist zugleich das einzige Mal, dass sich das Ensemble auf CD dieses Repertoires angenommen haben. Ergänzt wird das Programm durch Einspielungen aus dem Jahr 1988 mit Anthems und geistlichen Madrigalen von Thomas Tomkins. Die resultierenden 75 Minuten bieten eine faszinierende Reise in die Vergangenheit.
